Biography
Born in Argentina and raised in Lapaz, Bolivia, Zapata was heavily influenced by the ethnic Latin music of these countries. Growing up, his musical tastes were shaped by listening to popular American music such as disco and classic rock with his family at home in Lapaz.

As part of the celebrated DJ/producer duo East Coast Boogiemen, with Ken Christensen, they have been critically acclaimed for their innovative brand of house music. Mixing smooth horns and lush percussion with catchy disco riffs and funky vocals the duo create a perfect blend of sultry, soulful grooves. Embarking on solo endeavors, the boys are taking the music to the next level.

Odds and Ends (OAE) co-owner Juan Zapata is set to release his new mix, “Five Years of OAE” on the much loved OAE label this December! Look forward to more fun filled releases from Juan Z and the OAE label into 2008!
