Biography

Music has always played a dominant role in Dan's life. While growing up in a musical family, Dan focused on developing his skills as a keyboard player and a percussionist. These talents were soon expanded and became the backbone for his future endeavors in music.

In 1993, Dan discovered a love for house music while attending nightclubs and parties. It wasn’t long before Dan started buying records and DJing on a regular basis. After acquiring local club residencies and playing at countless underground events, he had found his niche. As Dan continued to grow as a DJ, his aspiration to create pushed him to express himself as an artist. After a few years in the studio, Dan met fellow Chicago producer, Richie Heller. Together they recorded under the guise of "Dirty Sole", including work for Classic Recordings and Yousef’s Carioca imprint.

Currently, Dan is working with Justin Long under the moniker "No Assembly Firm". Recently featured in URB magazine as one of the next 100 artists, the duo has completed well over two dozen projects for highly acclaimed labels including work for Classic, Cajual, Junior Boy’s Own, Robsoul, Aroma, Music For Freaks, Doubledown, Greens Keepers Music, Hip Therapy and many more. Their studio work is heavily supported by many of the world's top DJs and has been licensed repeatedly to mix compilations for fellow heavy hitting artists including Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, DJ Sneak, Johnny Fiasco, DJ Heather, Miles Maeda, Diz and Yousef.

Aside from production work, Dan performs regularly in major venues around the globe including headlining appearances in Brussels, Liverpool, Sheffield, Glasgow, Melbourne, Adelaide, Auckland, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, Kansas City, Seattle, Minneapolis, San Francisco and more. These sounds and performances have captured a cult following and can also be heard in regular rotation nationwide on "The Move" on XM radio.

In the midst of his travels, Dan and Justin are currently working on a series of new singles for .Dotbleep Recordings. The singles will feature the many different shades of the No Assembly sound in addition to collaboration work and guest vocal appearances from Heather, Diz, Honey Dijon, Colette and many more.

Besides producing and performing, Dan also maintains a record label entitled "Peaches Music" with close friend, Honey Dijon. Their label has been very well received and features artists such as Natural Rhythm, Derrick Carter, Freaks, JT Donaldson, Paul Woolford, Swirl People, Joshua, Lil Mark and more.

Dan is constantly refining himself as an artist, by taking on projects that challenge and influence his creative ability. With strong production credits and respect amongst his peers, Dan is following in the footsteps of Chicago’s elite.
